Students in all disciplines are encouraged to apply for admission to the Retail Studies Program during their freshman or sophomore year. This allows enough time to integrate their course of study in retailing with the requirements in their major fields. Business students who have completed the lower-division requirements will be able to enter the program as late as their junior year, but they, too, are encouraged to apply early to take advantage of the extracurricular activities and career services offered to retail studies student. The Retail Studies Student Association (RSSA) sponsors "Retail Weeks" featuring prominent speakers, recruiting events, and internships job fairs. RSSA also coordinates a series of fund-raising and social events. Retail studies students may be eligible for scholarship assistance from the Institute based on a combination of merit and need. Scholarship applications are accepted each Winter Quarter and are awarded to full-time Santa Clara University undergraduate students actively engaged in the Retail Studies Minor. Pick up an application from the RMI office in St. Joseph's Hall 108, or download a .pdf version of the application and bring to office and set up an interview with Cynthia Gamage, Associate Director.
Santa Clara University extends equal employment and educational opportunity to all people regardless of race, sex, creed, color, religion, national origin, age, marital status, sexual orientation, source of income, or handicap.
